Tied at 22-all, the Crimson outscored the Orioles 17-5 to close the first half and expanded their lead in the second half. Abby Schulte
Maple Grove junior forward Jordyn Lamker surpassed the 1000-point mark for her career Dec. 27 in a 70-35 win at Brainerd. Lamker scored 16 points in the game to reach 1001 points. She is seventh on the Crimson all-time scoring list, just 331 points from the No. 1 spot occupied by Tia Battle. The seventh-ranked
Senior guard Abby Schulte (left) scored a career-high 40 points to lead Maple Grove to an 87-84 win at Rogers Dec. 13. Schulte made 13 of 22 field goals, was 2 of 4 from beyond the three-point arch and converted 12 of 15 free throws. She also pulled down eight rebounds and blocked six shots.
With many top players returning from last year’s state tournament team, it is easy to understand why Maple Grove girls’ basketball coach Mark Cook is excited about the 2019-20 season. “This is an exciting year for us. We have five kids coming back that started games for us at some point last season,” said Cook.

The Crimson is off to a 1-2 start, rallying to beat Minnetonka after a loss to Eden Prairie and falling to Wayzata at home. Abby Schulte is averaging 17.5 points
