Football: Big 4th quarter sends Maple Grove past Minnetonka

Maple Grove’s offensive line was at a decided size disadvantage Friday against Minnetonka — by an average of 35 pounds at all but one position — but it didn’t bother Crimson junior Gavin Gourley. “You’ve got to be the ankle-biters on the field. Girls Tennis: Sophomore Adkins captures 4th section title

Maple Grove sophomore Zoe Adkins qualified for her fourth straight state tennis tournament when she won the Section 5 singles title last week. Adkins entered sections with an undefeated record and she stayed perfect by winning four matches. She breezed into the championship match and beat Armstrong’s Nicole Snezhko 6-2, 6-3. Football: Crimson open playoffs at home vs Tonka

The Maple Grove football team will get a home game in the upcoming State Class 6A playoffs. The Crimson are seeded fourth and will host fifth-seeded Minnetonka Friday, Oct. 25. The Crimson finished the regular season with a 4-4 record after losing to No. 6 Champlin Park 31-15 in the regular season finale Oct. 16.

Girls Soccer: Play the wind, defeat defending champ Minnetonka 2-0
