Crimson Fishing Club · Fishing: Ian and Dave Cobb place 7th at Virtual Bass Tournament

The state held a virtual bass tournament on June 20th. Over 250 teams competed and the team of Dave Cobb and Ian Cobb (father and son) placed 7th. Outstanding job and a Father’s Day Weekend memory to last a life time.

Thanks to Dave Cobb for the write up…

Ian fished the Student Angler Tournament Trail virtual tournament Saturday with his dad (Dave) as boat captain and co-angler. Up early and on the road at 5:30 AM to get latest fishing report and supplies at a bait shop before hitting a new lake for the first time. Ready to make first casts at 7:00 AM. We were happy to get a couple scoring fish on the board fairly early and filled our 7 fish limit around lunch time. The last few hours we were really getting some nice size fish and were able to bump some smaller fish out of our virtual 7-fish bag. Getting live results was fun on the mobile app and around 1:00 PM rose as high as 4th place before last minute position changes. We finally finished 7th.

All our fish were largemouth bass. In these events it has been tough to compete against smallmouth teams for top score positions. Out of the top 10 finishers, we had the biggest single fish at 5.2 lbs and averaged 3.5 lbs for a bag total of 24.52 lbs.
