Crimson Fishing Club, Varsity Fishing Club · Fishing: Lake Mille Lacs Proves to be a Tough Bite

On Sunday, July 14th, the Student Angler Tournament Trail hit the water of Minnesota’s famous Lake Mille Lacs. Lake Mille Lacs is rated as a top 10 bass lake in the nation, and home to some of the largest Smallmouth Bass that you will find any where in the country.

A full field of 200 boats hit the lake. The team of Ryan Renstrom and Carson Frank (pictured left) weighed in 13 pounds and 1 ounce and finished 52nd.

The team of Andrew Kowalzek and Kirk Carlson weighed in 11 pounds and 3 ounces and place 58th.

The team of Parker Nikko and Lucas Winge also fished and collected 1 pound and 14 ounces.

The lake was cruel to many of the teams as over 50 teams failed to weigh a fish.

The next tournament heads to the Le Homme Dieu Chain of Lakes in Alexandria in a week. The Chain is loaded with fish and should be an exciting event.
