Crimson sophomores Carson Frank (above left) and Ryan Renstrom (above right) took 11th place in a 150 team event this past Father’s Day weekend on Lake Minnetonka.
The Student Angler Tournament Trail (SATT) held it’s yearly event on Lake Minnetonka this past weekend. The tournament pulls some of the best high school anglers from around the state of Minnesota. Frank and Renstrom worked hard during their pre-fishing before the event to locate a few key areas that were holding both Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass.
The boys caught most of their fish throwing deep diving Rapala Jerk Baits over the weeds in 8-12 feet of water. The boy’s largest fish was a 3.3 lb Smallmouth Bass and their catch weighed a total of 17.10 lbs to place 11th, an impressive finish for sophomore anglers.
The team will look to gather more points as they fish more events over the course of the summer. Their ultimate goal is to qualify for the State Championship.
