Boys Varsity Swimming · Boys Swim and Dive: Off to 5-0 start

The Maple Grove boys’ swim and dive team is off to its best start since 2014 with a 5-0 record in the Northwest Suburban Conference. The Crimson defeated Spring Lake Park 92-88 and downed Irondale 71-31 Irondale over the winter break for their fourth and fifth win.

Top finishers against Spring Lake Park were: Zach Hopp who placed first in both the 200 IM and 100 Back, Kelby Modene who placed first in both the 100 Free and 100 Breast, divers Brandon Bortmen who placed second and rookie diver Josh Smith who placed third, TJ Pali who placed third in the 200 Free, Daniel Baltes who placed first in the 50 Free and second in the 100 Free, Ben Caron who placed second in the 500 Free, Leo Williams who placed third in the 500 Free, and Gerrit Rickels who placed second in the 100 Back….
