Boys Varsity Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country · Cross Country: Teams finish 2nd in NWSC; Young wins boys race (VIDEO)

The Crimson Cross Country teams were in Elk River on Wednesday for the Northwest Suburban Conference Championships, hoping to stay warm and bring home some hardware.

The boys team, anchored by juniors CJ Young and Charles Caven earned a 2nd place team finish, narrowly losing the title to Armstrong. Young finished 1st with a time of 16:32 followed by 3rd place Caven at 16:44.

Also scoring for the Crimson were 12th place Patrick McLean (17:19), 16th place Huxley Nyabwari (17:21), and 48th place Ashton Walz (18:13).

The girls team, lead by 7th place finisher freshman Lindsey Young, also earned 2nd place as a team. Young completed the race with a time of 19:44, just ahead of teammate Norah Trost who finished 16th with a time of 20:24.

Also scoring for the Crimson were 22nd place Christina Bolcer (20:35), 32th place Avery Erickson (21:21) and 36th place Lauren Tillman (21:31).
