The Maple Grove Crimson traveled to Edina on Friday, Sept. 16 to take on the Hornets during their homecoming. Despite picking up three touchdowns from quarterback Brad Davison, the Crimson couldn’t overcome penalties in their first loss of the season.

Offense was hard to come by in the first half as the Hornets scored the only touchdown, a one-yard plunge by quarterback Brock Boltmann. The extra-point was missed giving Edina a 6-0 halftime lead.

The Hornets didn’t waste any time adding to their lead in the second half. Parker Rickert took the opening kickoff at the 11-yard line and weaved his way 89-yards to the end zone extending the lead.
