Girls Tennis: Zoe Adkins wins Section singles title (VIDEO)

The sophomore beat Armstrong’s Nicole Snezhko in a rematch of last year’s final, won by Snezhko. Adkins took this year’s championship 6-2, 6-3. Both players advanced to the state tournament, which is next week.

There was no scoring in regulation or overtime but the Crimson won the shootout 4-3 on a goal by senior Lauren Bredensteiner.

Cross Country: Boys 1st, Girls 2nd in NWSC meet

The Maple Grove boys captured the Northwest Suburban Conference Cross Country Championship at Elk River on October 10th. Led by seniors CJ Young and Charles Caven, the Crimson ran away from the 14-team field with 64 points. Second-place Armstrong had 114. On a wet and soggy afternoon, Young took third in a time of 16:50.9
